National Junior Honor Society

 

The Five Pillars of NJHS:

Scholarship—Minimum GPA set by National; At St. John the Evangelist School students must have an average of 83 or higher, making the honor roll.


Service — Voluntary contribution of time given by a student to school or community, without monetary compensation


Leadership — Student leaders have demonstrated they are resourceful, good problem solvers, and idea contributors. Leadership experience is gained through school or community activities while working with or for others toward a common goal
 

Character — Students of good character are cooperative; they demonstrate high standards of honesty and reliability; they show courtesy, concern, and respect for others; and they keep a clean disciplinary record. Students must maintain a grade of Outstanding or Very Good in their effort and conduct on the report card. 


Citizenship— Students who understand the importance of civic engagement have high regard for freedom and justice; respect democracy; respect the law for all citizens at the local, state, and federal levels; and demonstrate mature participation in activities including but not limited to scouting, community groups, or school associations.
