Alumni Testimonial

My son, Preston, is finishing up his first year at SJE. He is a 5th grader who decided to leave public school after 4th grade to pursue an environment that would challenge him academically while maintaining high standards of academic learning and moral upbringing. Interestingly, this was exactly the decision I had made at the end of my 4th grade year in public school back in 1998. I enrolled as a 5th grader at SJE and made some of the best memories and friendships during those next four years. As a former student and current parent of the St. John’s community, I can say with certainty that the reputation of the school still holds true to its philosophy of weaving together education, Catholic faith, and respect for all.

To highlight a few familiar faces, Mrs. Boulay was both my classmate and the first student to greet me when I shadowed the 4th grade for a day. We were 10 years old when she practically adopted me for the shadow day, keeping me company and very informed about everything at SJE. She gave me the warm welcoming that made my first impression my final decision to attend this school. Mrs. Blaha was always that friendly smile I would start and end each day seeing. She was also the smiling face and friendly voice of the entire office. Mr. LeBoeuf arrived in my 6th grade year, making my class his first homeroom class of his SJE career. His talent and passion for teaching mathematics brought my average to an A that year and every year afterwards, allowing me to enter into accelerated high school and college math courses.

I know of other alumni who have returned to SJE in some form, and we all have our reasons for doing so. For me, the unique blend of what is offered by the school and its exceptional staff are simply not offered anywhere else.
